I've been here several times and the food is great most of the time. It's far better than what you can get for similar prices at local burger joints. The carne asada plate is huge and it comes with massive tortillas that make you feel like you're wrapping a baby in swaddling clothes. The tacos are very good and very filling. These are not street tacos. They really pile it on. One is usually enough. Two is definitely a full meal. It's great if you're on a budget because they're so cheap. The crispy bean burritos are cheap and great too. You get a lot of food here and it's very good for what you spend. Some have complained about the service. When I first started coming here I would say they weren't the warmest at greeting me. But they've gotten better. I've never ordered through the drive through. I feel that some food just doesn't lend itself well to the drive through system so I always eat in. I've brought visiting family members here and they all loved it and wanted to come back during their visit. I brought my mexican girlfriend here who was visiting from Texas and she thought it was delicious too.

All crispy tacos, chips and taquitos tasted like fish. The food all smlled fishy.

I used to love to eat at Rancheritos 3-4 times a month and would always order the Carne Asada fries and California burrito. However, the past 3 months I have come to dislike this place because in the past 4 months I have been getting stomach pain and diarrhea from their food three times so far. I gave 2 stars instead of just 1 because I do remember the good times before the food started making me sick.

Love the food but the service is super slow. Waited at the drive through order spot for 10 minutes before they responded to take my order and nobody was in line They also advertise they are open 24 hours but they aren't.

This location recently opened and appears to be the 17th location in Utah for this Mexican food restaurant chain. I thought I would check it out and give it a try for lunch since it is close to my office. It is in the same location that the Hogi Yogi / Teriyaki Sticks restaurant used to be before they closed, for those of you who know that area of State St. in Pleasant Grove. The restaurant was clean, the menu new and easy to read, they have plenty of seating, a self-serve fresh salsa bar and a self-serve fountain drink area. They have several combination plate options in addition to their a la carte menu. A full menu is available on their website. I went with the 2 fish taco plate with beans and rice. It was excellent! I added some lemon and mild salsa to the fish tacos and they were very flavorful. The beans and rice were good, too. They are open 24 hours and I recommend it as a great place for lunch or to come for dinner with the family sometime. Prices per person will range from about $4-$9.

I really like Rancherito's because the food is delicious, filling, and inexpensive. The service is generally excellent as well. However, you should avoid the Pleasant Grove location. After several chances, it has struck out for the last time. I always order the Breakfast Burrito. Several times now, including my last two visits in a row, the tortilla sweats, soaking the paper wrapping and bag in water. The bottom of the bag actually breaks open (of course not until you're driving away and feel a nice warm puddle on your lap). The potatoes have an overly soft texture. The burrito tastes like it wasn't cooked properly. I suspect that the food is being microwaved instead of made fresh like it should be. Very unpleasant. I don't think the problem is isolated to one cook or server because it has happened in the morning, afternoon, and late evening. There's no reliability, and the shortcuts on quality ruin the experience. I would suggest going to another location. I frequent the one in Orem on Center St. and never have a problem. You'll wait a bit longer in the drive-thru, but obviously the Orem restaurant actually cooks their food.

Surprisingly good food! From the outside, this looks like a fast food location. The food is better than that. Not gourmet, but very delicious Mexican food. Very friendly service to boot.

We have eaten here several times. Never again! First we were overcharged. They had a sign in the window advertising a special, but charged us full price anyway. They would not refund the difference. HUH?? Terrible customer service. We ordered the fajita plate. It comes out of the kitchen with the meat and vegetables slopped on top of the beans and rice. Really, they should get divided plates or find a way to separate the food. Sorry, but I won't give them another dime. I would not even go back if I had a free meal.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
